Bruce H. Wolk

Born in New York, and originally trained as a research biologist, Bruce Wolk began his career in R&D for one of the world’s largest pet products companies.  During his seven years with that organization he developed dozens of new pet products.  His job enabled him to spend as much time on the manufacturing floor as in the research laboratory.  From that position he joined a major gift and decorative organization where he marketed and helped launch more than 50 new children’s products.

Mr. Wolk likes to boast that his love of American manufacturing is genetic.  His mom was one of the original “Rosie the Riveters” during the Second World War, and many of his aunts and uncles worked in factories as bookbinders, in automobile assembly, as commercial upholsters, in the textile and “needle trades,” and in jewelry manufacturing.  He is proud of the fact that American manufacturing gave his immigrant and native-born relatives important and meaningful work.

In addition to his Master’s degree in Marine Biology and an MBA in Management, Mr. Wolk was always been drawn to writing.  His science and business degrees were enlivened with Creative Writing and English Literature coursework.  He has written for several general consumer, hobby, and trade publications, as well as business writing for publicly-traded, privately-held, and national trade organizations.  He is at work on his second book about American manufacturing.

Bruce Wolk lives in Denver, Colorado.
